Who Can Join?
Membership in the Ethiopian Federal Advocates Association is open to all licensed advocates who meet the requirements set forth in Proclamation No.1249/2021.
By law, all practicing advocates in Ethiopia must be registered members of EFAA to practice law before the federal courts.
Eligibility Requirements
- Hold a valid advocate license per Proclamation No.1249/2021
- Meet the educational qualifications for legal practice
- Demonstrate good moral character and professional conduct
- Submit a Good Conduct Letter
- Complete the membership application form
- Pay the required application and membership fees
Member Duties
As an EFAA member, you are expected to uphold the following responsibilities
Ethics & Professionalism
Maintain the highest standards of professional ethics and conduct in all legal matters
CPD Compliance
Complete required Continuing Professional Development hours annually
Annual Dues
Pay membership dues on time as per the Membership Fee Directive
Respect Regulations
Comply with EFAA's Internal Regulations and professional standards

How to Apply
Follow these steps to complete your EFAA membership application
Gather Documents
Prepare your advocate license, educational certificates, ID, and Good Conduct Letter
Complete Application
Fill out the membership application form with all required information
Submit Photo
Provide a recent passport-sized photograph for your membership ID
Pay Fees
Submit payment proof for the application fee (ETB 5,000)
Review Process
EFAA reviews your application and verifies all submitted documents
Receive Membership
Upon approval, receive your EFAA membership certificate and ID
